Chidi Lloyd ‘on a hot tin roof?’

The Council Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chidi Lloyd, might have a tough time in the coming months, if ongoing agitations against his second term bid receive any attention.

A strong worded appeal by some youths from the Local Government Area sighted by Africa Update, suggests that a storm might be brewing over Lloyd.

Excerpts of the statement read: EMOLGA YOUTHS REJECTS CHIDI LLOYD FOR SECOND TENURE, URGES GOVERNOR FUBARA AND THE PDP NOT TO RETURN HIM

The youths of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State has rejected the choice of Hon. Chidi Lloyd as the Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Local Government Elections.

Some stakeholders of the youths in the LGA appealed to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara and the State Chairman of PDP, Amb. Desmond Akawor not to return Hon. Lloyd for second tenure, as the youths are ready to vehemently resist his second tenure bid.

The stakeholders also appealed to the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to call the leadership of the party in the LGA to order to avoid a massive revolution.

They frowned at the sack of over three hundred EMOLGA youths by Hon. Chidi Lloyd, which has increased the alarming rate of unemployment in the LGA. The youths also condemned the ban of OSPAC in Emohua LGA which also led to the death of several persons, the most painful among them was the killing of Hon. Justice Azunda.

They said OSPAC decimated the killings, beheadings, kidnappings and cult activities in the LGA and people heaved sighs of relief, before the ban of OSPAC. They also said that on assumption of duty, the Local Government Chairman was supposed to return OSPAC that was banned by his predecessor but he ignored all the pleas of the people for political reasons.

The youths of EMOLGA also called on all the sons and daughters of Emohua Local Government Area to get ready for the mother of all protests in the history of Rivers state, if Hon Chidi Lloyd is allowed to go ahead on his second term bid.
