Public announcement
The attention of the regent, chiefs, elders and the entire members of the king Igbanibo Will-Braide war canoe group of houses of Bakana had been drawn to sprees of radio announcement by the Chiefs, elders and members of the Chief Belnaut Pedro’s house also of Bakana, perfecting plans to hold burial reception at King Igbanibo Will-Braide’s square without recourse to the authority of King Igbanibo Will-Braide war canoe group of houses.
It is worthy to know that all the head Chiefs or founders of the other war canoe houses in Bakana had their compound square also named after them and their descendants enjoy exclusive possession and rights.
Such head Chiefs and their square named after them are: 1) Chief India John Yellowe – has Iyalla’s compound square.
2) Chief Marion Braide- has Marion Braide’s compound square.
3) Chief Teme Davies – has Davies Compound square
4) Chief Jim Emine Braide – has Chief Emine square
5) Chief Duke Africa – has Duke’s compound square
6) Chief Tom Iboroma – has Iboroma compound square
7) Chief Belnaut Pedro- has Pedro’s compound square
The chiefs, elders and members of Chief Belnaut Pedro’s compound are also aware that the place they call town square is King Igbanibo Will-Braide square.
We are law abiding citizens hence we advise members of Chief Belnaut Pedro’s compound to confine their burial activities in their area or compound and should jettison the idea of forcing their activities on the area of King Igbanibo Will-Braide, especially the King Igbanibo Will-Braide square.
We are poised to embrace peace and unity in Bakana but will also not play a second fiddle to any person or group of people who may attempt to encroach on the rights of our forebears.
We therefore advise the People of Chief Belnaut Pedro’s compound to be guided and retrieve their footstep and do the needful.
Signed. Chief Truelove Igbanibo Will Braide. Head chief King Igbanibo Will Braide group of houses. Regent Bakana Community.
