FIDA Rivers State Branch holds workshop on increased participation of women in politics

International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, Rivers State Branch will hold a workshop on increased participation of women in politics. According to a release made by the State President, Bar. Adata Bio Briggs, participants will include female politicians from different political parties, those interested in politics, women living with disabilities, representatives of Women groups, and women leaders of political parties.

The statement noted that Her Excellency, Justice E. S. Wike, Wife of the Executive Governor of Rivers State, who is also the Patron of FIDA, will be the Special Guest of Honour, while Her Excellency, Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, Deputy Governor of Rivers State, will be Guest of Honour.

The workshop scheduled to hold at 10am today, at NBA House, Port Harcourt, will have Mr. Obo Effanga, Resident Electoral Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the keynote Speaker and Hon. Inime Aguma, the Commissioner for Social Welfare and rehabilitation as the Moderator.

Other Speakers expected at the event include: Rev. Dr. Nkem Osigwe, Hon. Linda Somiari-Stewart, Hon. Victoria Nyeche, Prof. W. O. Igwe, Dr. Dabota Jumbo, Hon. Ibim Semenitari and Hon. Gloria Boma Harry.
