Ikoku spare part dealer commits suicide in Rivers State

A 45-year-old car spare part dealer at Ikoku spare part market in Rivers State, has committed suicide. The businessman, an indigene of Ebonyi State, identified as Chinedu Ogwa, allegedly took his life as a result of business failure. Eyewitness account stated that Ogwa, reportedly drank rat poison at his residence in Mile 3 Diobu last night and dropped a note for his wife.

Speaking to Journalists wife of the deceased, Mrs Chidinma Ogwa explained that she came back from church with her children and observed that the door was locked and the torch was switched on inside the house. According to her, she had collected the key from where they usually kept it only to open the door to find her husband’s lifeless body. She stated further that a substance suspected to be poison was found beside her husband and her screams had attracted neighbours to the scene, who advised that the incident was reported to the police.
