A recent public announcement alleging the dissolution of the state executive committee of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Rivers State Chapter, has been described an untrue and misleading. This position was made known in a statement signed by the leader Rivers Forum of PANDEF, Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas, on August 24, 2020.
The statement revealed that Ken Robinson, the person behind the said dissolution acted without the consent of the leader and other stakeholders. The statement reads: My attention has been drawn to the purported inauguration of another State Executive Committee of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Rivers State, and the removal of the existing one under the leadership of Chief Samson Agbaru.
This alleged removal orchestrated by one Mr. Ken Robinson, is unacceptable, mischievous and aimed at causing chaos in the otherwise peaceful and organised sociocultural forum, which was founded to foster unity and development amongst Niger Deltans along the lines of upland and riverine dichotomy, as proscribed by the leaders from the region.
The said action by Ken Robinson who himself was recommended from here is viewed as disrespectful and ambitious. As leader of PANDEF in Rivers State, I want to call on well meaning Rivers people to discountenance the purported removal of the Sampson Agbaru led State Exco, which has my full support and blessings of Rivers Elders Chapter. Further statement will be issued subsequently. Besides, the other more senior members appointed to represent Rivers State in the National body: Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe and Charles Harry, were unaware of the move.
