A lawyer identified as Promise Frank Igwe, was shot dead at a bar in Ozuoba Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Friday, April 12, 2019 by unidentified gunmen.
The incident which occurred at about 10 a.m Friday morning, caused pandemonium, as customers and passers by were seen running for their lives.
Eyewitness revealed that the assailants took away their victim’s mobile phone after killing him while officers from Ozuoba Police Division came in later to evacuate his corpse.
The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, DSP. Nnmadi Omoni, said: “The victim has been identified as Barrister Promise Frank Igwe from Ogbakri in Emohua LGA. He was shot in a bar this (Friday) morning by four unknown gunmen.
“The four gunmen came to the place in a car and left immediately after they shot the man dead. We have since begun investigation into the incident with a view to apprehending those behind the dastardly act.”
