Place APC on the ballot, Cole/Giadom Campaign Organisation urges INEC

The Cole/Giadom Campaign Organisation has urged INEC  to do the needful by placing the Rivers APC on the ballot ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly polls.
The Spokesman for the campaign organisation, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke said in Port Harcourt that the cancellation of the polls last Saturday provides the platform for the commission to do the needful in restoring candidates of the APC on the ballot.
He said that the Rivers APC sees the mandatory inclusion of its candidates on the ballot as an issue tied closely to the respect of the rule of law.
He said there were series of orders arising from the Court of Appeal that INEC must respond to before Saturday’s polls.
Nwuke insisted that the commission must demonstrate that it has the capacity to do justice to all manner of persons by taking steps to end the controversy that has been raging over candidate related issues in Rivers State.
‘Like all Nigerians, we are shocked by the postponement of Saturday’s presidential polls in the country. But we have also listened to the explanations offered by INEC.
“Those explanations suggest that weather conditions necessitated the cancellation the elections.
“Our hope is that INEC would do the needful and that INEC would do what is necessary to place candidates particularly in Rivers State on the ballot because the issues revolve around the rule of law.
“They revolve around INEC’s capacity to do justice to all manner of people. In the Rivers State where APC candidates have been excluded,, our expectation after series of court orders was that INEC would respond responsively and that response is what we await as we prepare for Saturday’s election.”
