2019 Presidency: Hon. David Okumgba condemns PANDEF position, describes pronouncement as dubious

The recent pronouncement by some members of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, stating their position on which Presidential candidate would receive their votes in the 2019 general elections, according to Hon. David Okumgba, is the height of betrayal and insincerity.
Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, the south south zonal secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Okumgba said this action is a smokescreen to cover their dubious personal interest.
He expressed concern that these individuals who are close associates of  former President Goodluck Jonathan and members of the Peoples Democratic Partly, PDP,  were unable to demand for the provision of infrastructure in the Niger Delta region, but rather focused on enriching themselves.
He challenged PANDEF under the leadership of its national chairman, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, to explain to Niger Deltans why such positions were not taken when their associate was President of the country and their political party, the PDP was the ruling party.
He stressed that their affiliation to  PDP is well known which makes it morally wrong for them to speak on behalf of Niger Deltans regarding political issues.
Okumgba stated that the level of development in the Niger Delta region during the first three years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term, outshines what Jonathan could not achieve during  his six years as President.
He reiterated that Niger Deltans are wiser and would resist attempts by a cabal of individuals who are bent on returning to power through the back door.
