Sainsbury’s is recalling two batches of its Strawberry Fromage Frais Pouches because they might contain pieces of blue plastic.
Muller Kids Corner Butterflies Strawberry yogurt four-pack has also been recalled over fears it may also contain a small piece of plastic.
Sainsbury’s said the recall was a precautionary measure and that anyone who has bought the 4x90g packs should return them to the store, where they will receive a full refund.
The Muller recall was issued because of the potential for a small puck-shaped disc to be present in one of the pots.
The pink disc measuring 3cm by 1cm is used to test systems on the production line, which are in place to protect product quality, the company said.
Manufactured in Market Drayton, Shropshire, the batch potentially affected is the four-pack of 135g servings, with a best before date of April 27, 2016.
The Food Standards Agency told consumers: “If you have bought the product listed above, please do not eat it. Instead contact Muller Yogurt and Desserts at consumers@muller.co.uk.”
A spokesman for Muller said: “This is an isolated incident and an extensive investigation by Muller Yogurt & Desserts quality team is under way.”
