The Department of State Services ( DSS) on Saturday revealed that the mastermind of an alleged deceptive plan to overthrow President Muhammad Buhari, Â has been arrested .
A statement issued by an official of the service, Mr Tony Opuiyo in Abuja on Saturday said, the suspect, Mr Jones Abari, aka Gen. Akotebe Darikoro, was arrested in Yenagoa on Thursday, July 21.
Opuiyo disclosed that the suspect, confessed to writing threat letters to the management of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), demanding for N250 million, while the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC), was asked to pay N500 million.
He further hinted that Abari  confessed that he is the leader of the Joint Revolutionary Council, an arm of the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force ( JNDLF),  and masterminded the vandalism of NAOC trunk line in Ogboinbiri, Southern Ijaw and bombing of SPDC oil pipeline.
The statement added that the mastermind confessed to have been involved in other criminal activities like issuing a threat to launch missile attacks on selected targets in Abuja and the Presidential Villa.
