Gauteng police has confirmed the death of a retired police officer, who shot and killed his 30-year-old daughter at her home in Dawn Park, Boksburg , at about 6:00 Monday morning, before turning the gun on himself .
The shooting, according to Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, happened before four witnesses aged between 11 and 19,
Dlamini would not confirm who called police. It was apparently one of the man’s grandchildren.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said they declared the 60-year-old man and his daughter dead on the scene.
The four witnesses were offered trauma counseling.
