The Rivers State Government has relaxed restriction of movement as this month’s sanitation exercise holds tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, 2018 across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State from 7am – 10am.
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, who made the announcement, said the ‘no restriction of human and vehicular movements’ is as a result of Christian activities holding in the State.
Bro. Obuah emphasized that this statement supersedes the earlier statement as restriction of movements during the exercise has been relaxed.
Bro. Obuah however enjoined all Rivers people and those living and doing business in the State, that irrespective of the lifting of human and vehicular movements order during the exercise, they should participate fully in the sanitation exercise.
He urged owners of trucks (individuals and cooperate organizations) to make available their trucks for evacuation of waste that would be generated during the period of the sanitation exercise.
While urging the people of the State to support Governor Nyesom Wike’s vision of a clean and safe environment, Bro. Obuah reiterated the uncompromised commitment of the Agency (RIWAMA) in making Port Harcourt regain its Garden City status as well as having a healthy and clean State for the citizenry.
