Sad! Father kills five-day-old baby

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State police command,  DSP Kamal Abubakar, has confirmed the arrest of Habibu Bala for allegedly killing his five-day-old son with insecticide, on January 21, 2018.

Africa Update gathered that Bala, who resides at Ningi Local Government area of the state, had purportedly killed his baby due to financial problems.

Abubakar told newsmen that the suspect’s brother, Musa Bala, reported the incident at the Ningi police station at about 2:30pm on the same day, narrating that his younger brother had poisoned his newborn son’s food with insecticide because he did not have money for his naming ceremony.

Abubakar stated further that “As a result the baby became unconscious and was later taken to Ningi General Hospital, where a medical doctor certified him dead.”
