ONELGA killings: Wike dares Amaechi

The Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Wike,  has promised enhanced security across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

He made the promise during a town hall meeting yesterday, at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area,  following the killing of a notorious kidnapper and cultist, popularly known as Don wanny.

Wike stated that his administration will not tolerate the murder of innocent citizens and warned that whoever kills, will be killed.

He expressed regrets at the death of  innocent citizens during the attacks  and commended security agencies for tackling insecurity in ONELGA.

His words, “1st of January, 2018, when we got the information, I told my God, what is the point of still being a Governor and then people will be dying as if they are rats. People will be killed as if they are pigs.

“I said God,  You must intervene. You must show that You are God. And today, all of us know that there is God. I thank the security agencies for living up to expectation.

He disclosed that Don wanny has terrorized ONELGA for about eight years which has led to the decline of economic activities.

Stating that the economic fortunes of the area will turn around because “the demon is gone and gone forever “.

He accused the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, of being incapable of tackling the security challenges during his administration.  He reiterated that,  ” some people will come out on Television, pages of newspaper and accuse me that if I don’t have the capacity to protect people , I should resign.

“This same person was a governor for 8 years. People were being killed in ONELGA. Eight good years! . Did he arrest Don wanny? Did he chase them away? Eight years he couldn’t,  within 3 years, Don wanny is no longer here.

“On the 14th of December, 2014, we all know what happened in ONELGA. Souls were lost. Innocent people were massacred. 14th of December! . Maybe  people forget easily. And ONELGA must come back as what it used to be, ONELGA!” he emphasized.
