National grid collapse: 4 states in blackout

The National Power Grid has collapsed resulting to insufficient power supply in Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States.
The Head of Corporate Communications of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, (PHED) Jonah Iboma revealed that PHED is now receiving zero power from the national grid as a result of the collapse which occurred on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
Mr. Iboma stressed that the implication of the collapse of the national grid is that most cities in the affected states would experience blackout.
He said that PHED would source for alternative sources of electricity which would be supplied to consumers who are willing to pay for it and assured that PHED is working round the clock to ensure that the effect of the collapse is mitigated.
