The former governor of Adamawa State, James Ngilari, has been rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe for medical attention, barely two days after being taken into the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A former ambassador, Hassan Adamu, who was also arrested by the EFCC disclosed that although he was a co-signatory to the collection of the cash from Fidelity Bank, it was Ngilari’s aide who disbursed the money.
Adamu was quizzed and released on Thursday while Ngilari was detained sequel to his inability to disclose how the money was spent.
Ngilari was said to have collected some money from the state’s share of the N450 campaign funds sent to the state ahead of the 2015 elections.
