A bloody clash between supporters of Governor Ayodele Fayose and his former god daughter and current Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Mrs. Abiodun Olujimi, during a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at Kota-Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government area of the state on Sunday, has left scores injured.
Africa Update gathered that Fayose and Olujimi had come to the meeting with intentions to outdo each other and this led to the displsplaying enmity towards each other shortly after the meeting commenced.
Fayose’s supporter and lawmaker representing Ekiti East constituency II, Hon. Dare Pelemo, was said to have been beaten to stupor, with his dresses torn into shreds by Olujimi’s angry supporters while others ran for their lives.
Those wounded during the clash were said to have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Fayose and Olujimi, had been enmeshed in crisis over the latter’s governorship ambition, which the governor was purportedly opposed to.
This is also as two members of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeojo Fajana and Michael Adedeji are reportedly under probe over their alleged loyalty to Senator Olujimi.
