Startling revelations have emerged from sources close to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, following the sudden dissolution of the State Executive Council.
Africa Update gathered that the decision to sack the commissioners was to avert a looming hurricane of resignations, which our source alleged was inevitable in the face of purported ploy by the Governor not to fund the various ministries .
A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had alleged that the political appointees were dissatisfied with the trend of things but were unable to muster courage to throw in the towel, but with the couragoues decision of the former information and Communications boss, Dr. Austin Tam-george, to resign, the floodgates of resignation would have hit the table in the weeks ahead.
Though a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, on saturday said the governor did not disclose reasons behind his decision; he wished them well and directed the immediate handover to their respective Permanent Secretaries.
The source alleged that this dissolution was done to prevent further embarrassment to the PDP and Chief Wike.
