A female student of the Rivers State University was yesterday, electrocuted by a high tension cable, belonging to PHED close to the schools main gate shuttle park.

Sources revealed that the victim, had died while trying to move across a spot that had lots of water as a result of heavy rain that started in the early hours of Tuesday,  but unfortunately,  a pole had fell on Monday June 12, and the wires inside the water had electrocuted her.

It was also gathered that men of the PHED were contacted on Monday, the day the electric pole fell but all efforts to get them to address the situation had allegedly been ignored .
